Media Advisory: Charlottetown Hosts National Veterinary Convention for Hundreds of Veterinary Professionals

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI.  - The Canadian Veterinary Medical Association’s (CVMA) annual Convention takes place in Charlottetown, and offers veterinary professionals from across Canada continuing education sessions that focus on companion animal, ruminant, equine, practice management, bovine, animal welfare, and small flock poultry and more delivered by over 40 highly-rated speakers from Canada, the United States and overseas.
The opening day includes the CVMA Summit, the announcement of the new CVMA President, CVMA’s awards ceremony recognizing individuals and groups for their outstanding contribution to veterinary medicine, as well as the National Issues Forum. Dr. Ernie Ward, an award-winning practicing veterinarian and speaker, television and YouTube personality, will also run a day-long session to discuss ways to improve communication effectiveness in the veterinary practice while balancing profit.

  • July 13 - “A Successful Career, A Balanced Life” by Dr. Ernie Ward (9 a.m. to 5:05 p.m.)
  • July 13 – New CVMA President announced (approx. 12:50 p.m.)
  • July 13 – CVMA Summit : The Future of Veterinary Medicine (8 a.m. to noon)
  • July 13 – CVMA Awards ceremony (1 to 2 p.m.)
  • July 13 – National Issues Forum, Alternative Medicine. No Longer Alternative?  (2:30 to 5 p.m.)
  • July 13 – Exhibit Hall Opening (5 p.m.)
  • July 14 - Sustainable Veterinary Service in Northern Canada: A Veterinarians Without Borders Workshop (1:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
