First Case of Chronic Wasting Disease Detected on Quebec Game Farm

Quebec's Wildlife Department confirmed early in September 2018 that chronic wasting disease (CWD) was detected in a farm-raised animal that was sent to slaughter in late August. Disease controls measures to protect wildlife have been put into place by the province of Quebec. In Canada, CWD is a reportable disease under the Health of Animals Act, and all cases must be reported to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Read more.
