Social Programs

The 2019 WSAVA/CVMA Congress will offer many events pre, during and post-congress.

  • Community Outreach Program: Saturday, July 13, 2019
In partnership with WSAVA and CVMA, Community Veterinary Outreach (CVO) is excited to provide delegates with the opportunity to participate in an outreach day. This outreach day will include a 2.5-hour One Health workshop where we will provide background on CVO’s One Health model and approaches, along with presentations by both human and animal health partners, followed by a Community Veterinary Outreach One Health clinic for homeless and vulnerably-housed pet owners at the Yonge Street Mission in Toronto. Delegates will be supervised by licensed veterinarians. Please visit here to register for this program and view the speaker lineup.
  • 2019 WSAVA/CVMA Social Evening – Canadian Street Party – Thursday, July 18

Experience local food, drinks, and live entertainment at this year’s Canadian Street Party. You will be greeted by local buskers, while enjoying the ambiance at the CRH Gallery and Koerner Gardens, Evergreen Brick Works, which offers both indoor and outdoor space.
Once you have had a chance to tour the venue and mingle with colleagues, you will be invited into the main event space where you will be entertained by Canada’s most unique artist and a leading voice in Canadian music, Susan Aglukark. Susan blends the Inuktitut and English languages with contemporary pop music arrangements to tell the stories of her people, the Inuit of Arctic Canada.
You and your friends can dance the night away with a local DJ.
    Transportation for this event:
Guests will be picked up at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre at 6:30 p.m. and return will be on a looped schedule. The shuttle schedule will be posted when available.
