CVR launches a new eLearning on-line module: CVR Basic Training Refresher.
The 6th CVR in-person Basic Training session held at CFIA’s Fallowfield Laboratory in Ottawa, ON. To date 245 CVR Members have been trained and have achieved Reservist status.
CVR launches eLearning program with three on-line training modules as pre-requisites to CVR Basic Training:
- CVR General Orientation
- CVR Introduction to Incident Command System
- CVR Call Up Process and Procedures

CVR Foreign Animal Disease Response Basic Training sessions #2 through #5 are delivered in-person to approximately 40 CVR members per session. Total number of CVR Reservists approaches 200.
First CVR in-person, Foreign Animal Disease Response - CVR Basic Training held at CFIA’s National Center for Foreign Animal Disease (NCFAD), Winnipeg MB. 37 Reservists trained.
Initial CVR recruitment drive results in 354 applications from veterinarians across Canada.

- CFIA and CVMA sign contract to develop the 1st phase of the CVR (Foreign Animal Disease response).
- CVR Secretariat established to develop and manage the CVR program.
- Interim Advisory Board established to support CVR development.
