CFIA releases information for private practitioners about highly pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) event in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH founded as OIE) of the confirmed presence of high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus in Canada. Following the first detection of HPAI in Newfoundland in December 2021, spring and fall waterfowl migration drove the spread of avian influenza (AI) into new areas across Canada in 2022.
