We are seeking Associate and Locum Veterinarians to join our team at our two hospitals in beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia!

We can offer sole GP work, sole Emergency work, or a mixture of both. We can provide a flexible schedule that works around your lifestyle – whether you are a morning dove or a night owl, a week day busy body or weekend hobbyist.

Phases Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a brand new locally owned and operated 9,000 sqft 24-hour emergency facility which opened in early February 2024. Our newly assembled team is working together to create the hospital of our dreams, and we are looking for more enthusiastic individuals to join our merry bunch!

Neighbourhood Veterinary Hospital is a locally owned and operated first opinion practice, running from Monday-Friday, which opened its doors in 2020 in a fully renovated 1912 Heritage House in downtown Kamloops. It gives homey small-town vibes, but packs a punch with regards to the medical and surgical services we are able to provide, which has resulted in a dedicated client base keen on exploring a high standard of care.

Our goal at both of our facilities, is to provide gold-standard medicine, and to have fun while we do it. We want to continuously learn and push our skills, and welcome those from different backgrounds who are keen to bring their knowledge and experience to share with the team. We are open-minded, equal opportunity employers striving to create an approachable and welcoming environment that can continue to foster growth, diversity and compassion amongst our team members. We want to create a large, yet cohesive team, to permit adequate staffing at all times and to ensure each individual member has the recovery and holiday time they need and deserve. Communication, support and an open door are the key values of our management team.

We offer competitive salaries (70-140$/hour depending on location, shift type and experience), thorough health coverage, personal pet benefits, uniform allowances, extended holiday and sick coverage, dedicated housing for visiting doctors, travel coverage for visiting doctors, and so much more. We are working towards offering RRSP matching, as well as student loan support.

Between our two hospitals, we have access to:

- Abaxis Imagyst permitting easier in-house cytology, fecal testing and blood smear analysis
- Sedecal VetRay X-ray table permitting horizontal beam radiography – IDEXX DR50 System
- Digital Ultrasonography (GE Logiq and GE Versana Active)
- Bovie Electrosurgical Unit
- ICU Incubators and Oxygen therapy kennels
- Active Warming Devices (Hot Dog, Bair Hugger, IV Fluid warmer)
- Various pumps, syringe drivers
- Anesthetic Monitors (BM7, Vetcorder, PetMap, Suntech Vet20)
- Dedicated species-specific wards and kennel rooms
- Numerous more specialized medical products (banked blood products, RattleSnake Antivenin, etc.)
- Beautiful and cozy staff spaces with full kitchens

Kamloops itself is a growing city, and has so much to offer. It is a hub for everything outdoors, from lake life to ski life, and has also become a great spot for wineries, breweries and cideries. The downtown core is home to many new and burgeoning locally-owned restaurants and shops. It is often said that once you come to Kamloops, you won’t want to leave – much of our team who thought they were “just visiting from Ontario or Vancouver” can attest to that!
