Let’s face it: You didn’t survive chemistry and biology classes to spend your days chasing a fractious cat under a cabinet or being the world’s most overqualified blood-draw technician.

At Black Creek Animal Hospital, we’re building something different for our Fall 2026 opening. Located in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, we are an independently owned, purpose-built small animal facility designed for high-level medicine. More importantly, we’re designed for people.

The Vibe: Excellence without the Ego
We hold ourselves to high standards because our patients deserve it. We’re here to learn, grow, and have the kind of frank, "positive intent" conversations that actually move the needle. But here’s the kicker: we want leaders, not just "doers." We believe in a team-medicine model where our RVTs and assistants are fully leveraged to do what they do best. You lead the case, you perform the surgery, you provide the expertise, and you let your talented support team handle the rest.

Why Choose Us:
We are family-owned and fiercely independent. That means no boardroom in another province is deciding your worth or your workflow. We have an unrelenting focus on cultivating an amazing team environment because we know that if the staff is taken care of, the patients are, too.

Work Shouldn’t Be Your Personality: We believe work should support your life, not consume it.

The "Life Happens" Guarantee: Your kid has a school play at 1:00 PM? Book it off. The Summer Special: Need to leave early for your rec-league volleyball game? Please go and have fun!

Actual Recovery Time: We close for every statutory holiday, a full week in the summer, and the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s. Seriously. We want you to miss us, not resent us.

The "Show Me The Money" Section:
Salary: $130,000 base + bonus opportunities.
Rest: 6 weeks of vacation
Health: Comprehensive extended health benefits.
Support: Our staff will be well-compensated and respected, meaning you’ll be working with happy, professional humans who have your back.

Are You Our Person? If you’re a professional who wants to practice top-tier medicine in a facility that feels like family, where you’re treated like a leader and encouraged to have a life outside the clinic, let’s talk!

Mills Veterinary Services is looking for a veterinarian to join our team!
Mills Veterinary Services is seeking a small animal veterinary associate to join our growing 2 vet team. We are located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, just outside of Armstrong, BC. The clinic is situated on a rural property only 5 mins out of town, which creates an inviting atmosphere for visiting patients and clients. With several lakes and many hiking destinations in the area, Armstrong is a summer destination for many people and is equally fun in winter with 3 top quality ski hills nearby. Winters are pretty mild but if the cold isn’t your thing, the airport is close to sneak away for a beach vacation!
Our clinic is unique, offering high quality western medicine as well as in depth integrative care options. As a result we have a very high quality client base that makes practice more emotionally rewarding. Both full time veterinarians are certified in veterinary spinal manipulation therapy and TCVM acupuncture, and food/ herbal therapy is an important part of our practice. We have a small animal surgery suite complete with CO2 surgical laser and SA dental radiography, and offer digital radiography, ultrasound, in house blood analyzer and Imagyst system.
The successful applicant will have an interest in integrative modalities, including acupuncture and whole food nutrition. Certifications or courses in any of the following would be helpful: acupuncture, chiropractic and/or herbal therapy. An interest in equine work can be accommodated but is not required. Interest in basic soft tissue surgeries is an asset. We provide high quality general medicine and surgery for our clients and our brilliant tech team in the back provides first class anesthesia, induction, and monitoring, making your job easier!
Wages/ benefits/ CE options are competitive and negotiable, and lifestyle considerations are important to the whole team. Starting salary will range from $100,000 - $145,000 based on experience and a 32-40 hour work week. We are open to any level of experience and are motivated to find someone who will be a good fit with the clinic culture. Base pay plus production pay can be arranged if desired. Relocation assistance may potentially be available. Our practice works because of the kindness and compassion of our entire team. If you would like to pursue a veterinary career that’s a little off the beaten path, we might just be the practice for you!
