Unique opportunity for a new or recent graduate. This is a once a decade opportunity to live in one of the most desirable locations in north america while learning and working in a supportive, quality focused clinical environment. Employment with our practice group is usually only available through a formal one year internship program. However this year due to the program director’s sabbatical, we are opening our doors to a new or recent grad without formal internship requirements. The degree of mentoring and support will still be unparalleled as our clinic group has offered a medicine/surgery internship since 2015 so the staff and clinicians have extensive experience in supporting new doctors.
Our hospital functions as a general practice with advanced care elements including hospitalization, in-house ultrasound, advanced surgery, laparoscopy, oncology and care for exotics (small mammals and reptiles, not birds). You will work with a team of internship-trained veterinarians and develop basic diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical skills alongside advanced skills such as diagnostic ultrasound, advanced dentistry and complex case management. Compensation is proportional to the degree of mentorship desired with a $120,000 base salary, provincial license dues, health plan, 3 weeks paid leave, 1 week paid CE leave and generous CE allowance.
The hospital is in a central residential area of Vancouver, BC and is staffed and equipped to provide cutting edge medical care. Most important assets for an applicant is positive attitude, being a team player dedicated to collaborative medicine and a willingness to learn and grow.
