Recruitment of Veterinary Professionals Participation — TRU IPV Study
July 6, 2026
Please see the below message from the project lead, Dr. Rochelle Stevenson of TRU.
Veterinary Professionals Needed.
Are you a veterinarian or veterinary technician in Canada? We want to hear from you!
We are recruiting veterinary professionals to participate in a 1-hour confidential interview over Zoom for a project exploring the awareness of intimate partner violence (IPV) and non-accidental animal injury.
We’re hoping to learn about your responses and assessments if you suspect IPV in your human client or animal patient, or if a client discloses IPV to you.
With your help, we can inform opportunities for training and resource development, ensuring both human and animal clients receive the care they need.
The project is led by Dr. Rochelle Stevenson of Thompson Rivers University (TRU), Dr. Crystal Giesbrecht of the Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan (PATHS), Dr. Shane Bateman of the University of Guelph and Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Amy Fitzgerald of the University of Windsor, and assisted by Sunny Stranks of TRU.
If you have any questions or are interested in participating, please email us at petsandyou@tru.ca or text us at 236-852-0154.
