RABBIT HEMORRHAGIC DISEASE VACCINATION

March 18, 2019

There is no vaccine licensed for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease in Canada. This year as last year, CFIA’s Canadian Centre for Veterinary Biologics is prepared to grant an import permit to the office of the Chief Veterinarian for BC, Dr Jane Pritchard, which allows the vaccine to be re- distributed to clinics under the single application. Whereas Dr Pritchard will obtain the actual permit, Dr Veronica Gventsadze is collecting information from clinics on the numbers of vaccine required. Please do not contact Dr Pritchard about this. The order for the vaccine will go out in April.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY ONE ORDER WILL BE PLACED THIS YEAR, and the product expires in March 2020.

Email your information by March 30th to vgventsa4@gmail.com or gassendus@hotmail.com stating name of practice, number of individual vials (multiples of 10) and/or of 50-dose vials you will need. Dr Gventsadze is also happy to answer questions on vaccination protocol, known side effects, reactions, etc.

Vaccine expiry date:
March 9, 2020 for both the individual vials and the 50-dose vials

Cost:
65 Euros (about $98) for the 50-dose vial that must be used within 2 hours of reconstitution, and 120 Euros (about $182) for the 10-individual-dose pack. Additional cost for courier direct to your clinic if required will be added on to invoices.
