While the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) has taken many actions over the last four years to address the workforce shortage, including forming a workforce advisory group to create solutions, and calling on the federal government to recruit more internationally trained veterinarians and establish a national testing centre to certify professionals faster, there remains a severe veterinarian shortage across the county.
