Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre Webinar Series on Animal Welfare Concerns with Dog Breeding
February 16, 2022
There are several animal welfare concerns associated with dog breeding throughout the world. Veterinarians are on the frontline, dealing with many of these concerns as well as the ethical and practical issues that come with them.
The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre at the Atlantic Veterinary College invites you to its three-part webinar series on Animal Welfare Concerns with Dog Breeding. The webinars feature Dr. Brenda Bonnet, Dr. Candace Croney, and Dr. Rowena Packer, and will take place on March 15, March 22, and March 29, 2022, all beginning at 4 p.m. ADT.
This webinar series will cover current methods for assessing the welfare of dogs kept in breeding kennels, as well as the impact of breeding for certain traits, such as conformations that result in brachycephaly, on the welfare of dogs. The series will include both national and international perspectives on the steps veterinarians can take to help improve the welfare of dogs worldwide.
Veterinarians and veterinary technicians are eligible for continuing education credit. The webinar cost is $50 per webinar, or $120 for all three. There will be no charge for veterinary or animal health technology students.
