Veterinarians Assisting Animals of Domestic Violence

October 28, 2021

The SBCV Chapter introduces a new program to help those wishing to flee domestic violence but who may be delaying their escape as they are unable to take their beloved pets. This program is called Veterinarians Assisting Animals of Domestic Violence or VAADV (pronounced vad-vee), a matching program between veterinarians and organizations which assists those fleeing domestic violence. Our VAADV veterinarians can provide veterinary care and other services specifically for these animals. Some services that veterinarians in the VAADV program can provide include acting as a drop-off or pick-up point, providing food or water for pets, temporary boarding of animals, medicine and parasite control, dental care, veterinary care including procedures necessary for an animal’s quality of life.

If you would like to volunteer as a veterinarian in this program or are looking for a veterinarian to assist you, please send an email to sbcvchapter2@gmail.com with your preferred contact phone number and email, as well as the best times to reach you.
