More Than Ramps – Expanding Accessibility in Veterinary Medicine

May 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM - May 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM

Join us for an important and thought-provoking webinar featuring Uli Egger Sr. Specialist, Strategic Partnerships and Outreach, from the Rick Hansen Foundation. Accessibility in veterinary medicine can mean many things.

This webinar will explore accessibility beyond physical building design and challenge us to expand our thinking about accessibility and veterinary care. We will look at how accessibility shapes services, communication, and clinic culture — including how livestock producers access care in the field, how pet parents experience veterinary clinics, and how we create environments that are physically accessible, mind-friendly, and sensory-friendly for both clients and staff. With lived experience as both a pet parent and a member of a family farm, Uli will offer practical insights with veterinary clinics in mind.

With 1 in 4 Canadians living with a disability, improving accessibility is not only the right thing to do — it also broadens your reach and may increase your client base by up to 25%. This webinar serves as a stepping stone toward further education. Participants will learn how to advance their professional development through additional Rick Hansen Foundation courses. Together, we will explore how accessibility strengthens care, supports One Health, and ensures veterinary services are welcoming and available to all.

The webinar will be delivered in English, with closed captioning available in multiple languages. A CVMA CE will be provided to participants. The webinar will be recorded and made available afterward. This webinar is open to everyone working in the veterinary profession.
