How veterinarians are making clear progress on better use of antimicrobials

Antimicrobial resistance and stewardship has been a major issue in the veterinary profession for many years now, but it can sometimes feel like it's all "doom and gloom". Is any progress actually being made? The answer is YES! There are simple things practicing veterinarians have done, and can continue to do, that are making positive contributions to antimicrobial stewardship. This webinar will use recent clinical research and guidance to examine ways the vets can minimize antimicrobial use, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Companion and food animal examples will be used, covering topics such as:

  • Does this animal really need antimicrobials?
  • If it does need antimicrobials, how long do I really need to treat it for?
  • And what routes of administration should I use if possible?
