National Issues

Leadership on national veterinary issues is a priority of the CVMA. The Association takes pride in the national and international leadership it provides through its advocacy, representation and government relations efforts, and the work of its National Issues Committee. The CVMA ensures that critical issues such as the scheduling (Rx vs non-Rx) and registration of pharmaceuticals, the ability to use drugs extra-label, the use of antimicrobial drugs and antimicrobial resistance, food safety, public health, animal health, eco-system health, and animal protection and welfare legislation are readily identified and monitored.
