CVMA Attends Champions of Mental Health Gala

Dr. Tim Arthur, CVMA President, and Mr. Joel Neuheimer, CVMA CEO, attended the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health’s 2024 Champions of Mental Health Gala on Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 10. The Gala coincided with Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) – Canada’s national awareness campaign aimed at understanding the mental and substance use health challenges in Canada.
Dr. Arthur and Mr. Neuheimer met with a number of Members of Parliament and Senators including:
- The Honourable Ya’ara Saks, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health
- Senator Jim Quinn, representing New Brunswick
- Senator Mary Robinson, representing Prince Edward Island
- Member of Parliament Doug Shipley, representing Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte, Ontario
- Member of Parliament Mike Lake, representing Edmonton—Wetaskiwin, Alberta
- Member of Parliament Julie Vignola, representing Beauport—Limoilou, Quebec
