Québec City to Host National, Multi-Species Veterinary Convention

Québec City, Que. – The Canadian Veterinary Medical Association’s (CVMA) annual convention takes place in Québec City from July 6 to 9, 2023 and offers Canadian veterinary professionals continuing education sessions focusing on companion and large animal health, extreme conformation in pets, ethical breeding, telemedicine, One Health, emotional and psychological safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, and more delivered by over 50 esteemed national and international speakers.

The opening day (Thursday, July 6) of CVMA Signature Events includes:

  • CVMA Summit (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.): Evolution of Veterinary Practice in a Disrupted and Demanding World will explore veterinary medicine as it emerges through a global pandemic and a worldwide workforce shortage. The Summit will face these topics head-on with a focus on practices evolving into great workplaces with fresh perspectives from the UK, U.S.A., and Canada.
  • New CVMA President announcement (approx. 12:50 p.m.)
  • CVMA National Issues Forum (2:30 – 5 p.m.): Showcasing Veterinary Practices Adapting to the Current Workforce Shortage will feature a diverse panel representing practices from across Canada and internationally who will discuss how they are adapting and innovating in response to the current workforce shortage.
  • CVMA Awards Gala (7 – 8 p.m.): Celebrating outstanding individuals and groups for their exceptional contributions to veterinary medicine.

Of note is the second annual CVMA Veterinary Job Fair, taking place on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Level 2 of the Quebec City Convention Centre.  

WHAT: 2023 CVMA Annual Convention, offering veterinary professionals continuing education sessions including companion animal and farm animal care, animal welfare, antimicrobial stewardship, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, gastrointestinal diseases, communication, business management, equine infections, exotics, neurology, wildlife, cattle, ruminants, One Health, pain management, ophthalmology, reproduction, emergency medicine, nutrition management, respirology, radiography, anesthesiology, wound management, ultrasound techniques, and more.
