I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning veterinary students! I hope you all had a refreshing summer and are ready to take on the 2023-2024 year!
The SCVMA’s objective is to connect students from the five Canadian veterinary schools with the profession of veterinary medicine and the CVMA. Our team is excited to provide One Voice presentations at each school with Hot Topic speakers that will focus on leadership in veterinary medicine. The SCVMA Symposium will be hosted by FMV and will provide a networking and educational opportunity for students.
Each school has a SCVMA representative, this year they are Bailey Brazeau (WCVM), Alice Cheng (FMV), Mitchel Kvacica (OVC), Sukhjit Sidhu (UCVM), and myself (AVC). Our team will strive to provide a strong connection between students and the CVMA, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your representative or myself regarding any topic of importance to students. I am happy to hear student ideas throughout the year and will be bringing them to CVMA council meetings. The SCVMA team will be active on social media platforms to keep students updated on SCVMA matters so make sure to follow @scvma.ceacmv on Instagram and “Students of the CVMA” on Facebook.
