Patient Safety Science and Psychological Team Safety in Vet Med
Merck Animal Health and Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) “Time to Talk about Mental Health in Vet Med” Campaign and the Centre for Suicide Prevention are hosting a webinar: Patient Safety Science and Psychological Team Safety in Vet Med.
Medical errors happen in veterinary medicine because we are human! Patient safety science looks at medical errors and adverse events that impact, or nearly impact, patients with a goal of preventing them in the future. This webinar covers essential approaches of patient safety including a systems-based approach, culture of safety, and human factors. The discussion will include a review of current human and veterinary healthcare data on errors, with a deeper look into the impact of patient safety events on our team members and workplace culture.
In support of the Time to Talk about Mental Health in Vet Med awareness campaign, this webinar is available and free to all veterinarians, student veterinarians, RVTs, student RVTs, and all veterinary workplace staff. You do not need to be a CVMA member to attend. CE certificates will be available.
Join us for the 1-hour webinar on October 18, 2024 at 12-1 p.m. E.T.
Please contact Dr. Kathy Keil, Director, Veterinary Wellness and DEI, at kkeil@cvma-acmv.org if you have any questions.
Note: A mental health expert will be available as a safety support resource for one-on-one text or chat during the webinar.
