You’ve Got This: Navigate Cyberbullying Step-by-Step with the CVMA Flowchart
This flowchart can help determine whether and how to respond to online criticism and can be used in conjunction with your clinic’s social media guidelines.
The CVMA has gathered resources developed by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), as well as Canadian-specific resources from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety for easy access in one place. We are working collaboratively to equip you with the tools to prevent, manage, and navigate cyberbullying effectively with your well-being in mind.
Use the template responses to online veterinary reviews and customizable template developed by the AVMA (gratefully shared with permission) to make your clinic social media guidelines. You and your staff will have a consistent way to create posts and reply to posts/comments once your guidelines are developed. Do this before the need arises to help protect and manage your social media in a way that’s right for your veterinary clinic. Aim to have a team member check your social media platforms daily. You’ve got this!
We’ve Got You: The CVMA understands there's much more to addressing, recovering from, and preventing cyberbullying. We've got you covered with this comprehensive and helpful Reputation Management Toolkit developed by the AVMA (gratefully shared with permission).
We’re Doing this Together for you:
We’re grateful to OVMA for sharing their Social Media Response Toolkit, which has been valuable in helping us develop this resource.
